E-Levy Can Pay Trainees And Employ Graduates In The Country – Afenyo Markin

General News Recruitments

Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander
Afenyo-Markin has rallied the support of Ghanaians to pass the controversial e-levy.

Speaking on GTV, the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Afenyo-Markin said revenue generated from the E-levy will fix roads and create massive employment for the teeming youth.

Hon. Afenyo Markin noted that the NABCO initiative has come to an end and the government is finding ways to employ the youth and pay salary arrears of NABCO recruits.

He said, “This E-levy has become necessary for two things which have already mentioned. For the avoidance of doubt and at the risk of being repetitive, I dare repeat them. One…are roads which is a major challenge to all of us..the youth unemployment…many of the youth [are unemployed].

You see NABCO has come to an end. Some trainees are owed five months…they are concerned. Government cannot take all the graduates into the public sector. It is not possible. Government is saying we are introducing this [E-levy to support the private sector,” he continued.
