NEWS IN: GES Gives Lastest Update On The Proposed Break For SHS/SHTS For BECE

GES has finally comeout with the latest update of closure of Senior High Schools in the country for the upcoming BECE.

The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in release signed by the Deputy Director-General, Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh as seen by Frichynews.com has given directives on the closure of the various SHS and SHTS in country for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

In the release, Management confirmed that it has received requests from Heads of SHS whose facilities are to be used as centers for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) scheduled for Monday, November 15 to Friday, November 19 to allow their students to go home during the period.

In granting their request, the GES has therefore directed that all boarding students in said schools are NOT to go home during this period. Heads are to ensure that the necessary arrangements are made for boarders to remain on campus while engaging them in other forms of self-guided learning away from the classrooms where the BECE will be taking place.

However, Day students in said SHS may stay home and be provided with self-guided learning materials during this period.

The GES is assured the protection of lives and properties before, during and after the examination as it is collaborating with the security services in the country.
