The Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed the date for the beginning of the academic work as the reopening of schools in the country is fast approaching.

In a press release signed by its head of the Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo on Friday, January 15, 2021, the Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) informs students, teachers, parents and the general public that schools officially reopen on Monday, January 18, 2021 for the academic year.

The direction of the GES per the press release is that all schools should use Monday to do the necessary cleaning in and around the school. The GES further confirms that Academic Work will officially begin on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

With the reopening of schools fast approaching, understands most students, teachers, parents and the general public are living in fear and panic with the latest alarming development of the COVID-19 active cases in the country.

However, the GES has assured the aforesaid groups that the schools have been made safe for effective teaching and learning and therefore they should not panic.
