NSS Exposes the Falseness of Increase in Allowances

General News

The Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) says claims indicating the Service has increased allowances of National Service Personnel are untrue.

The management comment follows reports that the National Service Scheme has increased allowances for personnel currently serving their one-year mandatory service to the nation.

The Public Relations Officer of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Armstrong Esaah when contacted by the UniversNews, noted that the NSS has no such plans to increase or decrease allowances of personnel, adding that such publications are false and misleading.

According to the spokesperson of NSS the reports on social media is not something the management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) is considering at this time.

Mr Armstrong, however, said the increment of personnel allowance is possible but it is currently not the plans of the Service.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) in a released statement in May 2017 announced an increment of personnel allowance from GH₵ 350 to GH₵ 599.04 but has since not been increased again.
