Covid-19 Nigeria Cancels Wassce Exams and reverses resumption of schools

The Education Minister of Nigeria, Adamu Adamu, has ended the arranged resumption of federal schools especially for final year students expected to sit for their WASSCE for school candidates in August 2020.

As indicated by Mr. Adamu, Nigeria WASSCE candidates would not partake in the imminent West African Senior School Certificate Examination arranged for next month, August.

The Education Minister reported this to State House Journalists at the end of a gathering of the Federal Executive Council managed by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

He coordinated that every single federal school in Nigeria would stay shut until the unexpected circumstance is managed.

Mr Adamu importuned state governments that have reported for schools to resume to drop such plans.

The Clergyman for Education expressed that the African Examinations Council couldn’t decide the resumption date of schools in Nigeria.

According to him, the government would prefer that Nigerian students lose an academic year than to open them to the destructive novel coronavirus that has asserted at least 684 lives of the time composing this post.
